We are working to build our knowledge and make available effective evidence-based interventions to support employers to manage mental health in the workplace.
Watch Jeff Kennett, Chairman of beyondblue, introduce the Programme and the UK pilots.
beyondblue is Australia's national depression initiative. It is an independent, not for profit organisation which aims to create a community response to depression.
beyondblue offers workplace training about depression and anxiety disorders. It includes case studies showing helpful and unhelpful behaviours and develops effective management strategies.
The Sainsbury Centre is working in partnership with beyondblue to evaluate this programme for use in the UK. We have little evidence-based training for managers on this subject and beyondblue has an established track record and has been tested by a large cross section of employers (17,000 in 300 organisations in 4 years).
We are piloting the beyondblue Workplace Programme with employer partners including the Department of Health, Kent County Council, Royal Mail Group, the submarines business of Rolls-Royce, the Royal College of Nursing and Tate & Lyle. The training will be delivered by a small team of UK trainers who have been trained in the programme by Sainsbury Centre and beyondblue.
Find out why we chose beyondblue in the briefing below.
