A life in the day

The journal for all mental health practitioners and managers.

a life in the day journal coverA Life in the Day has a unique focus on social inclusion issues for people who use mental health services. It profiles best practice in inclusive day care where the aim is to ensure people enjoy fuller lives - finding jobs, learning new skills, volunteering, or participating in arts, sports and leisure activities in their local communities.

Many of the contributors are themselves users of (or former users of) mental health services and write from personal experience of the projects they describe.

Typical recent articles include:

  • Social relationships and mental health
  • Outcomes of supported employment
  • Promoting inclusion through supported housing
  • Criminal justice, mental health and employment
  • Challenging stigma and discrimination
  • Working together to improve access to learning

A Life in the Day is published quarterly and is edited by Adam Pozner, Judith Hammond and Mee Ling Ng of Trinova, a consultancy and research agency specialising in social inclusion and economic regeneration.

The contents and a sample article from each issue are available to download free from their website.
