The Royal College of Psychiatrists has organised this conference on suicide in prison. It will cover:
Sean Duggan, our Director of Criminal Justice will be speaking on the impact of diversion, sentences and resettlement on suicide prevention.
For more information, visit the Royal College of Psychiatrists website.
There is no doubt that effective resettlement and support of ex-offenders results in dramatic reductions in re-offending rates. Given time, this will have the required knock-on effect on public confidence in the criminal justice system. The Green Paper on Resettlement of Young Offenders follows the trend of recent thinking on this topic.
Delegates at this conference will hear from key government speakers, from the third sector and practitioners running the programmes that are making the most striking differences. Attendance at this conference provides policy updates, learning and inspiration – crucial tools for what should be a long period of supported improvement for all those working in resettlement.
Rob Fitzpatrick, our Project Manager, will be speaking on best practice in employing offenders with mental health problems.
