TriNova logoTriNova is an independent development agency working in the field of mental health, social inclusion and regeneration. TriNova team members have been offering research and consultancy services in the field of employment and mental health since the late 1980s.

Contracts are wide-ranging and include: qualitative research: programme evaluation: service audit and review; consumer surveys; strategic planning: development support; bid writing; journal editorship; and development of guidance materials. Clients number over 100 in the last decade and include local authorities, NHS Trusts, government departments and quangos, LSCs, voluntary organisations and private sector companies.

TriNova has had a long and fruitful working relationship with us as associates on a variety of projects. Recent TriNova projects have included:

  • Working with us to co-author and produce About Time, a step-by-step guide for commissioners on modernising adult mental health day and vocational services
  • Research for the Small Business Service (DTI) into support available to individuals with mental health problems for self-employment, enterprise development or employment within social enterprises. The research report 'Tackling Mental Health Issues Through Enterprise' led to new Phoenix Funds (£1.5 million) for self-employment/enterprise support pilot schemes in 2005.   • Research for the London Workforce Future Partnership examined the challenges faced by small businesses in retaining employees with disabilities or mental health problems. The research report 'Business support strategies for improving retention and reintegration of disabled employees in small and medium enterprises' downloadable from www.equalworkforce.org.uk. The report is available to download below.
  • TriNova developed a county-wide 'Valued Occupation' Development Strategy for people with mental health problems in Powys. This was achieved through a user-led research programme and stakeholder consultation facilitated by TriNova.
