Sean Duggan

Sean Duggan trained as a registered general and registered mental nurse in the early 80s and specialized in Forensic psychiatry as a charge nurse at the Dennis hill unit at Bethlem Royal Hospital. Sean became a health service manager in 1987 where he commissioned and opened an acute mental health unit in west Sussex.

His first NHS Board Director's post was also in West Sussex and covered mental health and Nursing. In the late 1990s Sean was seconded to the regional office to implement the mental health National Service framework in the South East. He started work at the department of health in 2002 where he established a prison mental health modernizing tool and lead the National Prison mental health program.

For the last two years Sean was Director of Health and Social Care for criminal Justice at the London Development Centre and offender health consultant for the department of health. He is passionate about raising standards of care and treatment of mental health services for offenders in the community and Prison.
