Jane Wilson is one of two Senior Development Workers for the Youth Justice Project. She started adult life with a BA in French & Spanish, but soon after this got into community work in Walsall and Essex and qualified as a social worker in 1984. From then till 2007 she worked for Local Authorities, primarily as a children's social worker, but also was an Approved Social Worker under mental health legislation.
Jane has worked for many years in Youth Justice, even before the creation of the current Youth Offending Teams, and was Deputy Service Manager for Shropshire Telford & Wrekin YOT, before moving to manage services for Looked After Children. Whilst with the YOT she managed the mental health workers, introduced CBT programmes and set up various projects relating to offenders and their families mental health & emotional well-being.
