Helen is the Research and Development Manager in the Employment Programme at Sainsbury Centre. Prior to her appointment in 2006, she was an Associate Consultant with the Centre for 5 years. Helen has carried out research and service development in the field of employment and mental health / disabilities since 1995, after graduating in Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge University.
Helen's most recent work includes the project management of the beyondblue National workplace program pilot in the UK, publishing About Time – a handbook for commissioners on the review and re-commissioning process for transforming employment and day services and an evaluation of the impact of having employment advisors in GP surgeries.
Helen actively builds partnerships with regulators, service users, commissioners, employers, mental health practitioners and researchers to make changes which will enhance the support and management of people who are in work and experiencing mental distress and which promote access to quality employment support, integrated into mental health services, to enable people who wish to work to gain and sustain employment.
